Sleeping in Stöfeli
Say goodnight to the chamois, snow hares, and marmots: spend the night in the traditional Stöfeli mountain inn at the foot of the Chäserrugg.
High above the valley, surrounded by mountains, you can bring your winter day to a close at 1,680 meters above sea level. Enjoy the evening atmosphere on the sun terrace or in the cozy dining room of the mountain inn with views of the Churfirsten and Alpstein mountains. You will be treated to a three-course dinner full of traditional dishes made from local products.
The next morning, a hearty breakfast awaits you, ready to start the new day. The mountain inn is located in the middle of the Chäserrugg area and is a hub for various slopes and hiking trails.
As the Stöfeli Mountain Inn is located in the heart of the ski area, you will need to travel here by cable car. Please report to the Tourist Information Centre at Unterwasser station by 15.00 at the latest on the day of your arrival. Please note that late arrivals are not possible.
At the Tourist Info Centre, you can also get advice on the right ticket and purchase it directly on site. If you have booked a ski pass with your accommodation, you will also receive this here.
One ascent or descent is already included in every ticket category.
If you are travelling by car, you will find parking spaces right next to Unterwasser station (the funicular's valley station). Please note that parking is subject to a charge and that you must purchase both a day and a night parking permit.
To do so, please use the “Parkingpay” app (available from the App Store and Google Play Store).

The Stöfeli Mountain Inn has several shared rooms and two dormitories. Please note that, depending on occupancy, different groups may share a shared room. The shared toilets and showers are located in the corridor.
The rooms are provided with bed linen. Guests are asked to bring their own towels. We also recommend bringing slippers.
Rooms are available from 14.00. On the day of departure, check-out is by 10.30. Any additional charges and the visitor’s tax can be paid on site. We accept both cash payments in Swiss francs and card payments.
Breakfast and dinner are included for guests aged 16 and over. For children aged 6 to 15, dinner can be ordered individually and paid for at check-out. If you have any food intolerances or allergies, please let us know before your arrival by emailing gastro@toggenburgbergbahnen.ch.
Guests must carry their own luggage to the Stöfeli Mountain Inn.
For this reason, we recommend using a large rucksack or a bag with carrying straps.
Dogs are permitted only upon request prior to booking via gastro@toggenburgbergbahnen.ch. A surcharge of CHF 20.00 per dog applies, subject to availability and room allocation.
