1st August - national day celebration
On Tuesday, 1st August 2023, a special kind of federal celebration waits for you on the Chäserrugg - enjoy the sunrise and the balanced breakfast on the summit in early morning silence or end the day with an atmospheric dinner and an incomparable view of the lights.
Start the festive day with a view of over 500 mountain peaks in 6 countries. With the first ascent at 05.00 h from Unterwasser, you will reach the summit before sunrise. Watch the mountain world wake up and with a bit of luck you may even see ibexes on the Rosenboden plateau. Afterwards, a breakfast buffet full of Toggenburg specialities and fresh bread is waiting for you.
In the evening, culinary delicacies based on Toggenburg products are offered between 18.00 and 21.30 h. Classic dishes such as Cervelat and Olma Bratwurst from the grill as well as Raclette, Cordon Bleu and St. Johanner Meatloaf are also on offer. The kitchen also presents an excellent selection of desserts.
The funicular railway and the aerial cableway run continuously on 1 August from 5.00 a.m. until 9.30 p.m. (last ascent). Then downhill every 30 minutes until 23.30.
