In the footsteps of Wildmannli
Exciting hike to the Seluner karst cave
You start the excursion from Alt St. Johann with a short gondola or chair lift ride to Alp Sellamatt. You follow a beautiful hiking trail to the west. Crossing the alp past cows and pine forests, you reach the Thurtalerstofel, where the view opens up over the Toggenburg valley to the Spear. The hiking trail leads you ever closer to the Churfirsten to Selun.
A visit to the 150m long cave on the north slope of the Selun gives you a welcome cooling. In the past, bears have spent their hibernation here. In the 1920's an abandoned nerd lived in the wilderness.
On the way back, which runs directly at the foot of the Churfirsten over the Schribersboden and Zinggen, you overlook the entire beauty of Alp Sellamatt.
